Ep 52: Money is the Fruit of Sin

Grumpy Old Geeks —  April 4, 2014

We’re joined again by Dr. David Teter to talk about douche-baggery in the government and silliness in the private sector. Brian and Jason agree to agree about Wil Wheaton only after disagreeing vehemently. Many new apps and stuff like that.

  1. Not to take away from your rant (a man has to went sometimes), but regarding your problems with the clients who don’t answer your questions: have you considered changing the communication style/medium?

Some people like email, some like chat (IM), some like a quick call and others prefer face to face. A good way to find out what the client prefers is to take note how they communicate when they initiate the communication. Do they send an email? Do they call?

Take note of their preferred medium and try using that. It should improve the speed of the responses.

  2. BTW, about Dropbox having access to your files: it has always been that way (them having access to it and doing whatever they damn please) and has been “widely” (depending on your definition) known since 2011 at least: http://paranoia.dubfire.net/2011/04/how-dropbox-sacrifices-user-privacy-for.html

  3. Hi guys!

Thanks for reading my comment on the air. I am “Attila the Hun” in a sense 🙂 (I’m from a territory disputed between Romania and Hungary – Transylvania – which after WW II was annexed to Romania – hence I’m a Romanian citizen – but my mother tongue is Hungarian).

Enough about me. Sorry about “went”, I meant “vent”. English is my fourth language which I never studied officially, just picket it up from programming and from movies (which means that I don’t have a cool British accent – damn you US :-)).
